Hi..
Thanks for your query..
As per your query
Genital Herpes is caused by
HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS 2..
It causes formation of ulcers over male and female genitals and can lead to pain, itching and discomfort..
It can also occur in anal region in individuals involved in anal intercourse..
If your partner is under treatment of Genital Herpes and you have sex using condom it can prevent transmission of disease to some extent provided if the condom covers the entire area which is infected with virus.
But you cannot be 100 % sure that you will not receive the infection..
At times when there are no sores present but still the virus can be contagious and can cause infection if contact is made..
You should also take care and find out if at all oral sores may or may not be present..
If you just had one intercourse since your partner had disease, chances of getting the disease are less but if you want to get tested for whether you have disease or not you can get a
BLOOD TEST done..
A pathologist will find out
antibodies in your blood against
HSV.
Other test can be Polymerase Chain Reaction in which viral DNA is multiplied into numerous copies.
Few more tests can include Culture and sensitivity test, Immunofluoresence, Enzyme linked immunosorbent assys..
HOPE YOUR QUERY GETS SOLVED...
Thanks and regards..
