How To Test For PCOS?

When is the best time during your cycle to do the blood work for PCOS testing when your periods are irregular? My doctor advised me to take YAZ birth control for 2 cycles and then get the blood work done at the second day of my menstrual cycle, I m confused how this would generate accurate results

As per your history is concerned please follow :-
1)Check [Hirsutism and virilizing signs] minimum grade is 8 to for PCOS
2)Check [waist circumference ]greater than 35 inch for PCOS
3)Check [Acanthosis nigricans]
4)Check blood pressure >[130/85]
5)Evaluate ovarian mass in ultrasound examinations
6)Do serum 17 hydroxyprogesterone,(IGF)(Prolactin)(LH)(FSH)(Testosterone)(TSH)(FBS)(Lipid profile) you can do after regularize of your periods at any time because it is co related with clinical findings only.
