Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Can an elderly person who has had 2 surgeries in 3 weeks (2 broken hips) who is experiencing hallucinations after the surgeries be expected to quit the hallucinating, or is a medication needed to "help" her to do so? This person was prescribed Zyprexa at the time to stop her hallucinating, and now I find that she cannot be taken off the drug easily. Is that so?
Hello, Dear first I would like to know that if you ever had these hallucinations before surgery? if not then it can be because of some medicines temporary effect. My opinion would be follow your doctor's advice and if it get worse consult a psycologist. Regards, Dr.Maheshwari
