How To Stop Bleeding Post Wisdom Teeth Removal?

My daughter had her wisdom teeth extracted on Monday. She has experienced little to no bleeding until tonight. She has been bleeding for about an hour now. She is using tea bags to try to stop the bleeding. The only change in her diet today was 2 clemmontines, the bleeding started shortly after eating them. Any suggestions to help stop the bleeding?

Hi..
Can understand your concern..

Bleeding a few days after tooth extraction is called "Secondary haemorrhage" and the reason for this is infection in the extraction socket which causes inflammation and formation of inflammatory tissue called as granulation tissue..
The granulation tissue contains immature blood vessels which ruptures easily and cause bleeding..

I would suggest you to visit your dentist again and get evaluated..
A full course of antibiotics will help you to cure the infection and stop bleeding.

For time being taking a sterile gauze piece and placing it over the bleeding socket and applying pressure from opposite arch teeth can help to stop bleeding.

Hope your query is solved..

Thanks and regards..
