How To Remove Phlegm From Mouth?

I woke up this morning to find I needed to release phlegm from my mouth. I m usually successfull at releasing the phlegm but on this occasion it wouldn t budge & was causing a choking sensation when trying to force it out. My throat does seem dry, & I didn t have much water yesterday. At the moment it is stuck in between the nose & throat (nasal passage). Any remedies?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello, greetings! Thanks for your query. Phlegm is usually caused by a Lower Respiratory Tract Infection, mainly by bacteria. This has to be treated by antibiotics prescribed by your local general physician. To completely remove all the phlegm, try steam inhalation along with bronchdilators, which will dilate your respiratory tract and help in the removal of phlegm.
