It is known to cause a common complication of atrophic rhinitis, perforation of the septum and attendant complications as you have developed. The thick and stuck scabs are a part of the same disease. I would advise you the following in such a situation that you can do at home: Take boiled and cooled water and add a pinch of sodabicard (baking soda), instill in the nostrils, this will allow the scabs to get separated which you can blow away. Repeat the procedure till all the scabs are removed and you start feeling open airway. Consult an ENT Surgeon in spite of you not willing as there is a necessity for clinical evaluation, to get prescription based medicines and to continue treatment till you are cured.
