How To Remove Burn Marks On Skin?

Dear Sir, Yesterday I had a burn due to Motor bike fell on me and the silencer have burned my skin. It is blackish in colour now. I have applied only coconut oil and now the pain and burning have come down. What Ointment should I apply to get heal the burns. thanks S Karthik

Hello, this is Dr. Alexandra Gidoiu.

I would suggest using cream containing Calendula officinalis (Garden Marigold). This plant enhances healing. If the wound is black, i would suggest to clean the wound before applying cream on it. Clean with water, then with rubbing alcohol, to disinfect and remove any foreign material from the wound.
I do not know the size of the wound. If it is a big wound we are talking about, i would suggest going to see a doctor. If this is the case, you will need bandages also, and further treatment (such as antibiotics to prevent infection of the wound). Also i dont know how deep is the wound. No picture provided.
