I just had a EKG and was told it was Myocardial Infarction. I have had rapid heartbeat, sweating, fatigue but still not sure what to take to slow my heart rate. BP has been 174/118 but after resting it can be 150/101? I was sent by my Gym to go see a doctor asap. Because they checked my bp.
I am 64 years old and I had four drug-eluding stents placed in my right and left coronary arteries last year after having had a myocardial infarction . Due to time delays associated with my medivac from our clinic s ER the muscle in the area of the right ventricle was starved of food and oxygen for 2-3 hours with a subsequent loss of 40% of localized heart function. I m on Plavix and aspirin and taking Ramapril to assist my damaged heart muscle. I just measured my blood pressure and it is around 106/60 with a pulse of 59. How am I doing?
I just received a diagnosis through a nuclear stress test of anterior wall myocardial infarction and inferior wall ischemia. How serious is this? Are these critical parts of the heart? Granted, I get it that losing function anywhere is not ideal but if you lose a finger, you still have use of your hand. I m wondering about the level of concern for this area of the heart.
My dad is 87 years old. He takes flomax for bph and travatan drops for glaucoma. He has mild high blood pressure but won t take his bp meds because it makes him feel to bad. He recently began having high blood sugar so I began looking at his medications. I now know that flomax has been causing many of his symptoms of dizziness and fatigue. I also read that flomax can raise blood sugar. He has taken flomax for many years. My question is what alternative medicine can he take for bph with less side effects. Or would surgery at his age help if all he has is an enlarged prostate. My concern is the years of taking flomax would result in no urinary control after surgery.
