How To Relieve Head Pressure?

Hi doctor, I took citalopram for 4 years and decided one day to just stop taking it (cold turkey). Five months after I startes getting these head presure specially at night. I decided to get back to citalopram to see if that would Help me, and it did for the first couple of months taking it but now i ve been taking it again for a year and the head pressure doesn t go away, please adive what can I do?

Hi,

While citalopram is used at times as an alternative for headache prevention there are other antidepressants with better proven efficacy. Amitriptyline would be the most studied medication, Duloxetine is another valid alternative as well. Discuss them with your doctor as it is difficult to enter in more detail as you do not provide much information about your age, sex and medical history.
