Good Morning Aisha,
It is good to see you are concerned about your weight as being
obese is a risk factor for chronic disease and illness. The basic formula for losing weight is calorie intake needs to be less than body requirements either through increased exercise or a combination of restricting calories and increasing exercise which is the optimal and most successful plan.
I do not understand what you mean when you say you can't "diet". Diet means many things to different people. The facts as we are following is it takes a 500 - 750 calorie reduction in the calories you are eating to lose approximately 1 - 1.5 lbs per week.
Please clarify your difficulties, what you mean by a "simple" diet. Again, I suggest you work with a Dietitian to develop an individualized meal plan with proper portion control and a tolerable exercise program.
Healthy nutritional models are the Mediterrean Meal Plan ( will also reduce inflammation and tone down
arthritis pain).
If you would like to work on a lifestyle modification plan, feel free to visit me directly. I hope I have provided some basic guidance for you and please feel free to contact me directly with a sample meal plan, list of medications, supplements and diagnosis. I can try to guide you. Thank you and best wishes. Kathryn Shattler, MS,RDN
