i am muneeba..35 years old..80 kg is my weight..and height is 5feet 4 inches..i ve water retention..i ve been through lots of tensions like divorce then my son went awa

y..some people told me taking lots of desi ghee will help me reduce weight and water retention will be cured..please guide me wat should i take to reduce weight as well as cure water retention??thanx

Hello Muneeba,

The reason why you put on weight is because when you have stress ( tension) you over eat. Many people do this and they become overweight or obese.
Ghee is oil which has more than double the number of calories than other foods of protein and carbohydrates. So taking ghee will only make you put on more weight.

How you can reduce your weight would be
1. Reduce your food by at least 20% of what you are eating now. Eat wholesome food. Avoid fast food and sweets. Eat plenty of leafy and over the ground vegetables. Take a small quantity of food in a small plate. Eat slowly, chewing the food well, taking about half an hour at least. Never refill the plate before it is at least 20 minutes as the brain takes that long to know you have eaten. Never snack especially when you are upset. Do not eat watching TV.
2. Next you should exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. Exercise helps you burn the fat in the body and also helps you relax and over come your tension.
3. If there is swelling of your feet ( edema) you should reduce salt and fluids.
4. You can practise yoga, meditation or interaction with friends and family to reduce your stress.
These measures would work for most people. If they don't, then you require to be investigated and proper treatment taken.
