How To Reduce Red Rash In Hand And Underneath Arms?

I have a red rash that is raised so you could say its a red bump on the side of my hand. It has two whiteheads on it that Are identical in size and symmetrical to the bump. It has been there for a couple months. However a few weeks Ago I got a swollen lymp node underneath my arm and now the spot on my hand seems to be healing. We do have wolf spiders around the house And I was wondering if that could have been it but the spot doesn t hurt At all. Any help is appreciated.

Hi,
Welcome to HCM!

This is Dr. Sridhar and I shall be answering your question.

Well, from your description, it appears that you have an abscess in your underarms. Abscess is a localised collection of pus, occurring as a result of infection. Those whiteheads represent pus points.

There is no need to worry as these are completely curable. If I were your treating doctor, I'd prescribe you an antibiotic course.
If the collection of pus is more, it might need a drainage by aspiration or incision.

Abscess are often accompanied with fever, for which you might need anti pyretics.

For temporary pain relief, hot fomentation and pain killers will be useful.

To prevent its recurrence, ensure you maintain proper hygiene and have a good nutritious diet.
Hope this information helps. Feel free to ask if you have any doubt.

With regards
Dr Sridhar
