Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

Risk of damage to body and death due to tobacco use (smoking and chewing) depend on many factors like:
-Number of cigarettes smoked per day.
-Duration of smoking or tobacco use.
-Presence of other risk factors like: Family history, Hypertension, DM, high BP, High cholesterol and obesity.

Body try to restore its normal functioning after quitting tobacco use. In few years of abstinence body gain almost healthy status if damages are not irreversible. So it is better to stop smoking/tobacco chewing. If you are not able to quit self then you can meet meet psychiatrist for deaddiction.

Wishing you good health and all the best.
