How To Prevent Withdrawal Side Effects Of Cymbalta?
Hi, I am 59 y/o male prescribed Cymbalta 60 mg 1 per day. I have been off for 3 months and have major withdrawal anxiety. I have severe OA diagnosed awaiting Hip replacements and spinal surgery. If I start back on Drs RX of 6o mg day, what is best time of day to take, with or w/o food, and how to prevent withdrawals ? Can I stay on it for a year instead of stopping after 6 months as I did before....Thank you Bill
Alright, it is FDA approved for anxiety, but is probably not the strongest drug for it and it is only for generalized anxiety and not for panic attacks.
Withdrawal from it and most drugs is in the first week or so after stopping. If someone was put on a drug for a problem (insulin for diabetes) and when not taking the drug the problem comes back, this is not called withdrawal.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is the most effective treatment for anxiety.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Matt Wachsman
