Hi
Thanks for choosing HCM for your query.

Since TB is highly contagious disease, the close contacts of a person with pulmonary (lung) tuberculosis are prone to develop infection because TB spreads by droplets during the acts of coughing, sneezing, yawning, etc.

Visit the treating doctor for the skin testing like Montoux test.
You will have to take Isoniazide tablet once daily for 6 months or Isoniazide and Rifampcin once daily for 3 months. This will prevent you from TB infection.

This preventive treatment should be given to all family members including the house maid and servants.

I hope your query is being explained.
A feedback in this regard is highly appreciated.
