How To Prevent Pregnancy When Having Toxoplasmosis?

Hello, a friend of mine is 8 weeks pregnancy and found out she tested positive for toxoplasmosis. Here IGM test was performed within a few days after the positive testing results and were found to be negative. I know this means a chronic infection for perhaps more than 1 year. Does she need treatment to protect the pregnancy? Thank you.

Hi
Dr. Purushottam welcomes you to HCM virtual clinic.
I have gone through your query.
I think I have understood your concern, I will try to suggest you the best possible treatment options.
firstly do not panic, as TOXO Ig M negative indicates - no active infection. Please check TOXO Ig G values also, ONly in Active infection these are very high. If they are normal please do not worry.
And there is no need to terminate the pregnancy.
I hope my answer helps you.
Thanks.
