How To Overcome Weakness, Chills And Body Pain?

I had a bad chest cold, flu like symptoms, body ache, chills, no fever about 5 weeks ago. Got better, but have had 3 relapses of body ache and chills, each for a day, then felt better again. All the time no fever. Felt good yesterday, but today was in bed all day with the same body ache, and weakness.I try to take care of myself and eat well. The doctors think it is a virus. Any other suggestions? Thanks so much. Tamara

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

The symptoms seem to be related to a viral infection.
Some suggestions that I can give to you about the treatment are:
-take anti-inflammatory medication such as ibupofen 400 mg three times a day
-rest
-drink liquids
-eat healthy

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
