How To Overcome The Problem Of Eating Disorder?

I m 15 5th 7 and I m 96 pounds. About a year ago my eating habits really began to slip. I began to eat alot less and now eventually it s got out of hand. I look in the mirror and see a fat monster. I find myself disgusting but my boyfriend says he can see under my ribs. I eat about 1 meal a day and when I eat more I get so angry and stressed I starve myself . I make breakfast look as if I ve eaten it by putting a tiny bit in the bowl and I hide how I eat infront of my parents. My boyfriend has noticed my eating habits and we do argue about it alot because the way I eat has made me faint lots of times and have to go to hospital and have a 24 hour heart monitor and blood pressure monitor. He try s to make me eat and sometimes I feel like I can do it and I start to eat a bit more to make him happy but as soon as I stand on the scales and see I ve put on weight I start not eating again and hiding that from him until he notices my weight loss again. I feel so disgusting and horrible and just so unhappy in myself all the time I want to loose weight as it s my prom soon! I feel like the only way I will look better and feel better in myself is by being thinner. I feel so good when I know I ve lost weight. I know the way I feel isn t normal and Ive tried so hard to sort it out but it s been getting worse and controlling me for the past year. Please help this is ruining my relationship and my life. In so stressed and I m doing my gcse exams in 2 weeks I need this to go away!!! Please help me have I got an eating disorder I ve read on the Internet I may have and I want to sort it now before it completely ruins my life!!! Thanks.

Thank you very much for your question.

Based on your height and weight, you meet criteria for a diagnosis of anorexia nervosa. This is an eating disorder in which people limit the amount they eat because of a belief they are overweight, despite evidence that they are actually severely underweight. Your description of fainting due to not eating is very concerning, as your body may be deprived of essential electrolytes, and your blood pressure is likely too low. This situation can result in cardiac arrest and death. I recommend you visit the nearest emergency room to seek treatment, as it may be life-saving. This is a treatable condition, and you're absolutely right: you should get psychiatric treatment now before it is too late.

I hope this helps.
