Hi and Welcome to HCM,

How long you are smoking?. This condition may be smoker's bronchitis. You have to stop smoking. Treatment options include anti-histamines expectorant containing Bromohexine, antibiotics can be given since you might have bacterial infection. Due to cough and exertion you will get this pain in ribs or lungs. Other possibilities includes pneumonia, sinusitis. Drink hot water. Menthol inhalation is advised.

Wish you speedy recovery

Thank you
