How To Overcome The Nonstop Burning Of My Lungs?

Hi, I m Elise. I went to ER last night. After a steroid shot, keflex shot, 2 Zithromax pills and a breathing treatment, I was released with a script of Zithromax. I m coughing a lot, sometimes dry cough/sometimes it s bright green phlegm. I understand a cough suppressant is not ideal for a pneumonia patient, but is there ANYTHING I can take that will make my lungs stop the nonstop burning? I ve been taking OTC Ibuprofen and Tylenol for this roller coaster fever. I have taken so many OTC meds that I can t remember them all. I m in quite a bit of pain. My throat is raw and burns (tested negative for strep throat). What can I do to make all this burning & body aches stop? Thank you so much.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
In my opinion you should first consult pulmonologist and get done chest x ray to rule out infection. Your all symptoms are like cough and expectoration and fever are suggestive of lower respiratory tract infection.so you should investigate for this. Send sputum culture and if needed also go for bronchoscopy and BAL analysis to identify the organism. For all these consult good pulmonologist and discuss things.
