How To Overcome Depression Without Antidepressants?

I am really depressed and I don t know how to get through this. I have taken two types of antidepressants, and with both iv suffered bad experience with them. Iv been like this for a number of years and it seams to me that I get worse every year. I just want to be happy and strong again.

Hi,
Thanks for using HealthCareMagic.

If you have severe depression with suicidal ideas and death wishes,there is no way to get rid of it without medicines.However if your depression is mild to moderate in severity, you can be helped with psychotherapy.

If your depression is recurrent , you can be helped with cognitive behavior therapy(CBT). If it is chronic without significant improvement in between,you can be helped with psycho dynamic psychotherapy. Depending upon your cause of depression and stressors, other types of psychotherapy there.
