HI THANKS FOR POSTING YOUR QUERY ON HEALTH CARE MAGIC.
GOING BY YOUR HISTORY I WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU THAT ITS MANDATE TO TELL YOUR DOCTORS ABOUT THE "METHAMPHETAMINE' DRUG USUAGE AND ITS SUBSEQUENT QUITTING.STOPPING METH IS ASSOCIATED WITH WITHDRAWAL REACTIONS.THESE REACTIONS CAN RANGE FROM CONFUSION,IRRITATION,SEIZURES,CARDIOVASCULAR DISTURBANCES,INSOMNIA,STUPOR AND FINALLY COMA.THE SEIZURES IN YOUR FATHERS CASE COULD BE EITHER BECAUSE OF DRUG WITHDRAWAL REACTIONS OR PRESENCE OF AN NEW UNDIAGNOSED 'EPILEPTIC/SEIZURE FOCUS" IN THE BRAIN .TO VERIFY THIS 2 INVESTIGATIONS ARE NEEDED...1.EEG-ELECTROENCHEPHALOGRAM WITH INTERICTAL RECORDING.
2.NON CONTRAST COMPACT TOMOGRAPHY-NCCT OF BRAIN.THIS COMBINATION OF TESTS CAN ACCURATELY HELP TO LOCATE SEIZURE FOCUS.ALSO SERUM ELECTROLYTES ,SERUM METH LEVELS WILL BE USE IN GUIDING TREATMENT PROTOCOL.DRUGS THAT CAN BE USED IN YOUR DAD'S CASE ARE DIAZEPAM,LORAZEPAM,SEMISODIUM VALPROATE,LAMOTRIGENE,CARBAMAZAPEINE,CORRECTING ELECTROLYTE ABNORMALITIES.CONSULT AN EXPERT NEUROLOGIST TO HELP YOU FURTHER BY EXPERT MANAGEMENT.
THANK YOU.
TAKE CARE.
