I was wondering what I can do to lower cholesterol? even though I don t understand how it got so high. in February 2013 my cholesterol was in the 100 s and now in October 2014 is in the 200 s. I don t know how it got up there that fast, I am thinking it could be from what I ate the night before, I was not told they would take blood from me and to fast the night before, I did eat over 12 hours before. my name is Angela I am 36 years I m 5 5 I weigh 206

Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query.As you only ate on night it is not likely from the food you ate at night.Your BMI is more also.You can re do the cholesterol test to confirm it if you doubt about it.You can have a weight which is height in cm minus 100 plus or minus 5,in kilograms.Cholesterol can be increased in case of hypothyroidism also.TSH level in blood should be checked for that.So you should do life style modification initially.Do regular exercises like jogging or swimming.You can do sit ups at home also.If that is not helping to lower the cholesterol you should be put on statin drug therapy.Hope this may help you.
