Stopping alcohol use and smoking will both help you to control your blood pressure. However, it is best done under supervision of a psychiatrist who will prescribe you detoxification regimen to quit alcohol. Trying to stop alcohol without detox can rise your BP to dangerous levels.
You may need to consult your physician who is treating your BP as your BP is not adequately controlled.
