Take a lot of vitamin C supplements. You can obtain vitamin C from fruits and vegetables. Because vitamin C is water soluble, it can be easily absorbed by the body and will immediately help in restoring the body's platelet count.

However, the most common home remedy is to drink the bitter extract from a papaya leaf. Two leaves without the stalk can yield approximately two tablespoons of the extract.

Drumstick leaves, Indian gooseberry, green gram, liver, citrus fruits and egg yolk would help in resuming the proper production of the platelets.
Avoid fatty foods which could further damage the liver and hinder the production of the platelets...

Since the platelet count is low, there may be problems in clotting of blood. Try to avoid activities in which you could injure yourself.

I wouldn't take high amounts of vitamin C as suggested by Dr., as vitamin C thins the blood and can increase bleeding problems and since your platelet count is already down this could actually be very dangerous if you injured yourself. Instead concentrate on foods high in Vitamin K, which helps to increase clotting factors in the blood. But the main issue is understanding whats causing the low platelet count in the first place as the causes can be very serious and need to be treated effectively.
