Homeopath Dr. Swati Ramkumar's  Response
Hello,
The causes for low Hb needs to be evaluated. Is there any history of illness or dieting? Improper eating habits and diet. If female is there any history of severe or heavy bleeding during menses?

In the meanwhile you may
1) Take a iron rich diet - Include Jaggery, black dates, kishmish in your diet
2) Leafy vegetables atleast 2 times/wk
3) 1/2 tsp of Halim (Garden cress) seeds, soaked in water in the morning. This helps in improving the iron store in the body.
4) A balanced diet including fresh fruits and vegetables is important.
5) You can take homeopathic medicine FERRUM PHOS 6X 2 PILLS 2 TIMES/DAY

Repeat the blood work after 3 months(and not within 3 months) as thats the best time to notice any difference (Life cycle of the Red blood cell is 120 days )

My 2 year old son has a hemoglobin level of 9.1 and his platelet count is high but not sure of number. Something in his urine also showed an issue with his kidneys. The past 2-3 weeks he has had very excessive thirst and urinating very frequently. Pcp has referred him to a pediatric nephrologist. Is there anything I can do to help him before this appointment. Also how soon should he be seen if the appointment isn't very soon?
