How To Increase Iron Levels In Blood?

I am a female age 43 no longer getting her monthly. I donate plasma 2 times a week and I have not been able to donate for 5 weeks because my iron is so low. I eat iron rich foods, take an iron pill, and my multivitamin has extra iron in it. I do need the money that comes from donating, so if you have any advice I would really appreciate it.

Greetings,
Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
Well you are doing all that needs to be done to increase blood iron levels.
But one thing is very important to note that excess iron is not advised in any case . And iron intake should limited .

Here i would advise you to get following laboratory tests
1) Serum Iron levels
2) Serum TIBC

These tests will tell me if you are still deficient in iron or you are going in excess iron which is not good. The body has limited capacity to use iron so taking iron in large doses does not increase blood production after a certain level.

I hope the answer was helpful. In case you need any further assistance feel free to contact in writing.

Regards,
Dr Talal Hussain
