Hi doctor, my name is Jinshu and I am from India. I am an IT professional. Due to the long working hours, i am not able to eat properly and now a days i am not feeling hungry also. I am 25 years old and only 47 kg weight and height of 5 feet 10 inches.
I am really worried about my health now. I want to gain some weight and increase my body mass. Next month my marriage is fixed and i am really worried about my lean body. Please advice me how can i improve my body. Please suggest.
As, you mentioned, your weight is low for your height.
Weight gain can be achieved by increasing calorie input and decreasing energy output. Increasing energy input- this means increasing the calories you intake with food and drink by. This can be done by: (1) increasing portion size and eating more frequently
(2)increasing the caloric value of your main meals and snacks by adding oils/dressings/nuts/peanut butter to the food
(3)use high calorie snacks
In terms of activity: (1)decrease aerobic exercises (2)decrease fidgeting (3)strength training may help
I hope this helps
