How To Identify Implantation Bleeding?

Hi m 27 years old and trying to conceive. My last periods were on 18th September and this month 15th October was expected..now after 1week of my missed period m having light bleeding whole day with mild abdominal cramps..is it implantation bleeding or miscarriage.. What to do

Thanks for trusting us with your health concern. In the current scenario, I would ask you to go for an estimation of the serum beta-hCG titres as this test is very sensitive and also specific. Once the pregnancy status is clarified, further management can be planned. A sonogram of the pelvis, preferably in the trans-vaginal route, is necessary to clarify the situation. If positive, viability of the pregnancy must be established and measures taken to conserve the pregnancy; these include absolute bed rest, hormones if needed and monitoring. If negative, it is likely to be a delayed period. Implantation bleeding is a fresh bleeding, occurs around the expected period and is often accompanied by cramping. Hope this helps.
