How To Identify If Hymen Is Not Broken?

I am a 22 year old virgin who has never used tampons or inserted anything inside myself. I recently took a mirror to become better acquainted with my body and I noticed that my vaginal opening seems to be completely covered with a thick, white, mucousy substance which I assume is my hymen. From what I have read however, there should be some indication of an opening which I cannot seem to find - it is completely covered. Is this a serious issue that requires professional intervention? Will it hinder any future sexual activity?

Hello,

A white mucous substance can be due to thick vaginal secretions. Hymen is of the same color as vaginal wall. Direct examination can confirm this.

I hope this information has been helpful for you. Let me know if I can assist you further.
