How To Heal Pole Hit Mediated Leg Injury With A Huge Dark Purple Bruise And A Knot About The Size Of A Softball?

I had a pole hit my leg probably with 100 lbs pressure behind it. It didnt tear into my skin but scraped it, I have a huge dark purple bruise almost black in color & a huge knot about the size of a softball can't stand anyone to touch it. Can it wait til the dr office opens or go to ER

**. From description it seems to be soft tissue injury . Huge knot might be due to haematoma formation(collection of blood).
You need an x-ray to rule out any bony injury.
I suggest you to consult an orthopaedician nearby for a detailed examination. You may get the X-ray of the area affected under his/her guidance.Beside icing and elevating it, you can take anti-inflammatory drug like motrin to reduce pain and inflammation. Avoid putting weight and rest well.
