How To Heal Painful Swallowing?

I continually feel as though I have a pill stuck in my throat, and every thing I try to eat hurts so much that I can't continue. Swallowing is very painful. This has been going on for several weeks, and seems to be getting worse.
Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

Hi. If the painful swallowing is going on for several weeks the obvious cause can be other than just an infection. In your case this can happen due to many conditions such enlarged styloid process, a swelling of some other origin just to mention a few.
you need to check-up with an ENT Specialist , who on clinical, endoscopic and some tests if necessary can locate the cause.
