How To Heal Cold And Cough During Pregnancy?

Hi Doctor, I am in my 16th week of pregnancy and suffering from cold and cough.. a physician has suggested zedex syrup.. 5ml..3 times a day.... is it ok to take that. Alongwith it he has also suggested Table Levocin - twice daily for 3 days.. are these medicines safe during pregnancy?
