How To Get Rid Of The Dark Spots Caused By Pimples?

Hello Doctor,

I am facing problem with Pimples. When the pimple goes off, it leaves a dark spot on my face which takes very long to fade away.

I am facing this problem from last 2 years or so. Only 3 months back I consulted a doctor who recommended me to use Benzoyl Peroxide along with Azithral tablet. It didn't helped much. After consulting another doctor only few days back he prescribed supatret C along with minoz 50. Should I use that?

This is for your information that I see pimples on my face 1 or 2 days after I masturbate. When I stop doing that I don't see any pimples coming up. So I have stopped enjoying myself in that way but still there are many dark spots left out.

I am also using home made therapy such as: applying honey, besan+haldi+milk. Should I continue doing so? Will that be helpful in long run.

Please help me. I am getting engaged in another 45 days and I want to be spotless free.

Many thanks for your valuable suggestions.

Hi thanks for posting your concern.

Acne healing with Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH) is a very common concern in indian skin type since Indian skin has lot of melanin and is thus prone to PIH.

One thing i want to highlight is that Minoz though very effective for inflammatory acne sometimes leads to bluish/black Pigmentation at sites of previous acne which may take months to fade. Therefore i usually prescribe my patients on Azithromycin rather than Minocycline.

In my practice i ask my patients to apply clindamycin gel only on active acne during the day time along with a topical retinoid gel over the whole affected area at night with Or without oral antibiotics(Azithromycin or doxycycline)

Once acne is well controlled i usually put my patients on topical kojic acid Or hydroquinone which works very well to decrease PIH.

Take care
regards
