How To Get Rid Of Swollen Lymph Node?

Hello...I am inquiring because about a month ago I had a sore throat, the sore throat went away within a couple of days and then my right lymph node under my jawline got HUGE and hurt. So I went to the doctor and he prescriped me a z-pack. The pain has completely gone away and it is not as swollen as it was, but is still swollen. I am currently on my second round of antibiotics, and it does not seem to be doing anything. The lymph node is still swollen but there's not really any pain. It does feel hard and kind of immobile, but I am not sure what that exactly means (have found a lot of information on the internet saying you should be concerned if it is painless, hard, and immobile). I guess I have been pushing on it a bit lately, but that's just been in the last week (keep in mind this has been here for about a month). My doctor doesn't think it is anything to worry about, but I wanted a second opinion. Thanks! PS I am a 24 year old female...I do smoke when I drink on the weekends also, so I don't know if this could affect it as well.

Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding small painless lymph node blow the angle of jaw. As you said that to start with sore throat and pain in throat and lump which gradually gone because of use of antibiotic. Now you have no sore throat but the lump in neck had been reduce in size but it is still there.

As you are feeling it is hard, painless and immobile so it's nature should always be confirmed by FNAC or excisional biopsy.

Probably you got the answer of your query.

Regards.
