Several things.
1) Group meetings to discuss/share experiences about narcotic abuse. In the US these are called 12 step programs. Since the Far East has always had a group approach to treating problems, I would suspect anywhere in Asia would have something similar. Setting up a supportive environment is very important. Sponsors, family, religious groups, etc.
2) There are specific medications that are helpful. Suboxone is a partially active narcotic. It has some of the effects, at a milder level and prevents other narcotics from being fully active. This sets up a safe environment to wean down.
3) physician involvement in prescribing suboxone and evaluating other health issues is also important.
Hope this helps.

Addiction Medicine Specialist Dr. Preeti Parakh's  Response
Hi Sunil,

You have taken a big step in the right direction by accepting that you have a problem. Now try to find a good psychiatrist in your area so that you can be prescribed medicines properly to manage withdrawal and thereafter to prevent craving for the drug.

Best wishes.
