Hi,

You may be right. The mole like small melanotic dots may be freckles.Freckles are clusters of concentrated melanin which are most often visible on people with a fair skin. Freckles do not have an increased number melanocytes like lentigines and mole.Freckles are predominantly found on the face, but they may appear on any area exposed to the sun like arms or shoulders.Sometime freckles may be considered as moles and other skin growths.Effective treatment is available to help lighten freckles. You consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis and proper treatment. Following treatments may be considered

1)Bleaching or fading creams: kojic acid, vitamin C or hydroquinone containing cream or gel may be applied on the lesions.

2)Retinoids:Retinoids like tretinoin , tazarotene , adapalene also may help lighten freckles when applied consistently over a period of several months along with bleaching cream.

3)Cryosurgery: A light freeze with liquid nitrogen in the OPD can be used to treat some types of freckles.

4)Laser treatment: Multiple types of lasers may help to lighten and decrease the appearance of freckles safely and effectively.

5)Chemical peels can also help to lighten the freckles, but experienced dermatologist should do this procedure.

I think you may be alright with one of above treatments taken from dermatologist. I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
