Hello,
You may have
gingivitis and a visit to the
dentist for a cleaning would help reduce the inflammation causing swelling and extra tissue. At home, make sure you improve your daily oral care. Brushing, flossing and rinsing must be included in your routine. There are smal interdental brushes that can be used to assist cleaning between the teeth. Just improving your daily care may help the gum area to shrink. You may gently
massage the area that appears as a growth. If you have
tartar stuck to your teeth and under the gums, you still will need a cleaning at your dental office to remove this, but better removal of the daily build up of
plaque will benefit your gums. You are wise to address this now and prevent progression to more complicated periodontal disease.
You may have an infection that appears as bump. This can be due to a
tooth abscess or bone. It may drain and vary in size. Pain symptoms may vary.
Is this an area subject to trauma? This can be from your bite, habits,
mouth breathing, or even harsh brushing. Tissue can grow into an area of a broken tooth. Some medications can cause proliferation of tissue. Minor surgical procedures can remove extra tissue. A growth could also indicate a tumor or cyst.
Additional details would be helpful to give you additional advice. I suggest scheduling a routine dental exam with x-rays and cleaning. Dental problems can progress from an easily treatable condition to more difficult situations if left untreated. Your dental health affects your entire body. Make sure you maintain a healthy diet with balanced vitamins and keep well hydrated.
Thank you for your inquiry. I am glad to answer additional questions and hope you find my suggestions helpful.
