Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query.Your problem is most likely an attack of acute gout.It is usually diagnosed by clinical findings of, like your characteristic red swelling with intensive pain of elbow region with laboratory findings of increased uric acid in blood. For acute attack i treat my patients with ibuprofen or indomethacin and colchicine till the symptoms subside. If uric acid is chronically elevated i give allopurinol or febuxostat for little longer time therapy. If uric acid is increased you should avoid meat and fish in high quantity, should completely avoid organ meats like liver.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further query.
