Brent, It can be difficult to have repeated skin infections, so I hear you that you are having trouble with the number of episodes that you are having. Has anyone ever spoken to you about trying to "decolonize" yourself from MRSA? While we don't do it with every patient who has an MRSA infection, there is a possibility that trying one of the following two options can actually get the MRSA out of your system: chlorhexidine gluconate daily washes or mupirocin ointment. I think it would be worthwhile to approach your primary doctor or an infectious disease specialist about trying MRSA decolonization to reduce your chances of future infections. I hope this has answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help. Dr. Patel
