Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
This is regarding effexor withdrawal. I was on effexor for a year and a half. Decided to wean myself off for about 2 weeks. My last dose was a week and a half ago. I am sleepy all the time, lightheaded and have muscle and joint pain. Wondering what I can do to alleviate these symptoms. If they are the adverse re-actions to effexor withdrawal do you have any advice. Thank You very much.
Hello, You got these withdrawal symptoms because you weaned off in just 2 weeks. Since ypu have used the drug for couple of years, you have to be gentle and patient while coming out of it. The golden rule to withdraw is to withdraw by 10% every 3 weeks. Although it would take many months in doing so,but you shall be able to come out of it easily. Thanks
