How To Get Over Alcohol Addiction And Depression ?

my son is 40 years old many years depression and alcoholism. He is really stuck.he has had many opportunities to get help and still drinks. Alcohol has ruined his life, chances for education.., jobs, relationships and ,I am sure it's had effect on cognition and physical health. How can we get him help? I do understand he has to do the hard work. How can we help him to want to be sober. I can't believe anyone would really choose a life of addiction.

There is associated psychiatric illness due to chronic alcoholism so I will advise to consult psychiatrist for help.

A holistic approach is required, which includes exercises, meditation ,SKY[ sudarshan kriya yoga] will help to improve depression.

Some new creativity/project will help to improve behaviour and dependence.
