How To Differentiate Between Vaginal Lesions And Herpes?

how can I tell if vaginal lesions are herpes? I went to the Dr yesterday and she gave me both antivirals and antibiotics and I am waiting for my results. Was she not able to determine it was herpes by looking or did she just not want to scare me until I got my results back

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Genital herpes usually presented as blistering type of rash. It will be associated with burning sensation, irritation and pain. Some times it is difficult to differentiate also. You can go for Herpes 1 and 2 tests. Can do viral culture from the lesion also. But false negatives are possible. But blistering rash associated with burning sensation or pain can be considered as herpes and take antiviral treatment.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
