Dear Asmarani! Thank you for choosing health care magic. Usually ultrasound is the investigation of choice for appendicitis. But negative ultrasound report cannot rule out appendicitis. It is the clinical diagnosis most of the times.

Hi, i am 27 years old and i have been experiencing lower right abdominal pain for about half a year. The pain is constant and it becomes worse after i have any form of bowel movement or bending movements. I did an ultrasound scan and nothing wrong was found with my reproductive organs. Subsequently, i saw a colorectal specialist who initially thought that my constipation problem is causing the pain. However, after being on mild laxatives for 3 weeks, the pain did not improve of go away. The doctor says he is unsure of what is wrong with me. I have also sought help alternatively from Traditional Chinese Medicine who has diagnosed me with Chronic Appendicitis . Basically, he identified this condition by first pressing on the lower right quadrant of my abdomen (where the pain is). After which, he lifted up my right leg and pressed on the same spot again and that set me off into a yelping pain in which i literally jumped up a little from the bed. Hence, i will like to seek other opinions as to what can be causing this constant lower right abdominal pain. Is it indeed a condition of chronic appendicitis? This is bearing in mind that the pain intensifies after bowel movements or during any bending motions. Thank you very much for your kind help and time.
My son aged 24 years was operated for appendicitis last week. He got pain on Sunday evening and taken scan on Monday and diagnosed as appendicitis and asked to operate immediately (the size is 8 mm) and operated on tuesday and discharged on Thursday. We are vegetarians? I would like to know what is the cause of this? Second is i didnt take any second opinion from another dr. Am i taken a correct decision?
I started with my period on Thursday after months without because of the birth control pills. (Because of hard training I skipped it). It chose to have my pill free week since my boyfriend is on vacation. On my period, I had a lot of pain (still have), it was hard to walk, wasn t up for food, and was also very nausea.. Now I m finished after four and a half day which is very normal, but it still hurts a lot! And specially on my right side. So, I read on the internet about appendicitis, since I have a lot of the syntomps. Also afraid I can be pregnant, but I had my period, and also use birth control pills. Can it also be that I just waited to long with the period. Maybe more than my body could handle? Since the period started the same day as I started the non pill week?
I have been having stomach issues for several weeks now. I initially went to a Emergent Care clinic when the pain started. They referred me to a GI specialist. I wasn t able to get in to see the GI specialist for 2 weeks and when I did, after examination they recommended both a colonoscopy & endoscopy which is not scheduled for another couple of weeks. I asked if they were going to give me a scan to rule out anything before the endoscopies and he said he didn t want to subject me to unnecessary radiation if it can be diagnosed with a endoscopy. But that is still several weeks away. I am in a lot of pain, at first it was kind of all over my stomach, then in the center, now localized to the right side. I am not vomiting, but have some acid reflux, gas, and several loose stools and diarrhea each day. The pain is what concerns me as it is sharp shooting and most often right after I eat, but sometimes all the time. After reading some of the symptoms I am concerned about appendicitis. My symptoms started weeks ago. Have they been going on to long to be related to that?
My 22 year old grand daughter has been dealing with constipation since she was a baby. She is a very healthy eater, juicing ; eating good balanced meals.and she is athletic. She just had blood work and a cat scan to rule out appendicitis or kidney stones since she has been experiencing pain on her left side through to the back. The scan ruled out them out, however it shows extreme backup in her intestines. Her doctor suggests she be tested for ciliac disease. Is there anything else she could try before going through any more testing?
My 5 year old son had strep pharyngitis 2 weeks ago and was treated with keflex x 10days. Midway through the keflex course he c/o lower bilateral abdominal pain although he would first point to the right lower quadrant. Yesterday he developed a fever, headache, sore throat, and abdominal pain. No N&V, no diarrhea, no one else is sick in the house. He was seen by his PCP who did a throat culture, UA and culture. His UA showed +4 ketones, trace blood, +1 protein, negative glucose, and specific gravity of 1.010. We were given a second course of Keflex and sent to the ED where they did another UA, CBC, and CMP. Glucose 116. UA still had +4 ketones but no other abnormalities. Today he is febrile 101 to 102 F, with abdominal pain which is lower bilateral but a little more on the right side. The ED said that he could have an appendicitis brewing and to keep an eye on him. The also said that his urine did not look dehydrated and his electrolytes looked normal so they are not sure why his ketones are so high. Any thoughts?
I had been operated for appendicitis about 7 years ago. Soon after 2/3 years, constipation started. Last year I was diaganosed with stones in both the kidneys now doctor says are gone after treatment. Now I have lost digestion completely. There is consistent pain on the lower right of abdomen, which happens to be the area of surgery for appendicitis. Pain is at the place of surgery as well as below that as well i.e. seems to be inside the large intestine and around. I have lost digestion means there is no digestion at all and passage of stools do not happen unless I take medicines. Also, it is all fudgy and seems to contain some mucus kind of thing. CT scan of abdomen and pelvis conducted on 25th july says no significant abnormality found. Currently I am taking Tab Tropix, Tab Cintapro, Tab Lafaxid, Tab Remepen. I am not experiencing wt loss, fever, nausea, visible blood in stools etc. But I have lost bowel movements completely.
