How To Diagnose HPV Infection?

I am 54 yrs old and just got my vey first abnormal pap and I have HPV. I am going in for a colopscopy for further testing. I had a total hysterectomy 12 yrs ago and have been with the same man for 15 yrs. I am questioning his fidelity. Is there a test he can have to see if he has the virus and if I caught it from him?

Hi,

You can go for viral antigen assay for him. However it is not a specific test and false positive results can happen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Shinas Hussain,
