How To Deal With Abusive Boss?

I am being continually verbally and psychologically abused by my boss>I have reported his behavior to the HR department, twice, as well as his supervisor yet the situation persists.I would like to take time off work ( I have the vacation time) to "take a break" from the situation but I am afraid I will be fired.I am at my wits end. What should I do?Should I take some time off to save my sanity?

No need to worry ! This is the time you need to have an introspection. Let me ask you certain clarifications.

(a) Are you the lone one there being cornered ? How many of you are affected by the so called rude behaviour? What is his credential and what is the general opinion about him ? What was the response from HR on your complaint ? How long have you been working there? Is there any particular point on which he insists or it is a generalised one ?

(b) How do you rate yourself? An adjustable and adaptable one or a person with an adamant nature? What is your working style? Are you a loner or go getter? How many friends do you have? What will they say about you? What would you say about your friends?

Further, check for other options of getting internally transfered to some other office if the general opinion about the person in question is on a negative side. Before that, check the questionnaires(a&b). If you are a loner, adamant, having only one or two friends, non-communicative and feeling maladjusted, you need a change. You may consult a psychologist in town for intervention. He would suggest a personality assessment which can reveal your traits both negative and postive and some counselling for a behavioural change.

Stick to it, you will be happy !

hello..
thanks for your query on HCM,
do be calm
dont take any decision in haste..
everything has an end..
there are certain things in life that cannot be changed...
so try to modulate yourself and try to improve your work atmosphere...
do your work that is allotted to you and just ignore other things that may hamper you...
if your boss abuses also, just listen to it and ignore..pretend as if you are not at all affected...
in due course he will change seeing that you are not at all affected...
its not easy..
it will take some time..
but in due course things will definately improve...
wish you good luck and a happy life ahead...
