How To Cure The Condition Of Polyosis?

hello doctor,My brother new born child with white forelock hair on forehead area.We consulted the local doctor , he say it is due to polyosis.I would like to know what are the treatments available ? Whether there will any problem in growth of the child ? We have to undergo any thyroid test.Please advise!

Did you mean polyposis? Or polyosis? In fact, polyosis is the same as polyposis and refers to the development of hanging benign tumors in the lining of the large intestine of a person. This can be an inherited condition. Occasionally, such tumors (called polyps) can turn into cancerous tumors.

On the other hand, white-forelock can be independently inherited from the father's side and has no direct relationship with polyosis. Sometimes, a white forelock is part of a genetic syndrome such as the Wardenburg's syndrome.
