How To Cure Swollen Lips After Taking Restylan Injections?
I received Restalyn injections to my lips at 11am.. I ve taken Benadryl and have been icing 10 minutes on, 10 minutes off the last 6 hours.. My top lip is about 10x bigger than my bottom lip and it looks like I was punched in the mouth repeatedly. Besides being ridiculously swollen, it s painful. It looks absolutely scary and horrible and I don t feel like this is normal. It s Sunday at 6 so the office is closed... What should I do?
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Swelling and pain after Restylane injection is common and it may last anywhere from 7 to 10 days. Taking conservative measures such as using ice or cold packs on the lips is the only sensible thing to do for the time being. If, after a week, the puffiness and pain have not abated then you should contact your doctor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Ornela Ademovi
