How To Cure Sourness In Mouth ?

My baby is 6 months old, it started with a fever of 38.6 and moaning sound and his eyelids a little red. The doctor gave him antibiotics saying that there is soars in his throat. After day 2 of the antibiotics when I touch him, he cries if it is soar. After day three his got a rash (very little red spots over his whole body)but the fever is much beter. And cries sometimes like he's got pain somewhere. Do I need to take him back to the doctor please help

Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.
Fever of four days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually rather than fever, what is more important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day. If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about duration if the kid is active.
Sores in throat and rash appearing is one more evidence that it is viral illness.
You can treat fever with Paracetamol at 15mg/kg/dose every 4-6th hourly if fever is > 100F. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever as usually most combination medicines combine Paracetamol with NSAIDs and is not advisable.
