How To Cure Red Spots Behind The Ears & Running Nose?

my son has a couple of red spots behind his ear and has a runny but stuffy nose and a slight fever and cough. he is only nine months and is up to date with shots. the family doctor said not to come in until his fever reaches a 100.00 but his normal is 97. what can we do

Hi, thanks for your query.
In my opinion you son might probably have upper resp tract infections, probably viral infection.
Red spots may be the skin rashes which is common in viral infection. Use a calamine lotion twice daily for a week.
For fever, if fever is more than 100 then give him, paracetamol suspension.otherwise just monitor him.
For running nose and cough , I would suggest a antihistamine+ decongestant syrup for 5 days.
If symptoms persists, then the child may need a course of antibiotics.
All these are prescription medicines , so I advise you to consult doctor and discuss the treatment.
